2019 Rainier Snowshoe Trip

Our 2019 Mt. Rainier snowshoe trip marked the 2nd year in a row that we had (mostly) clear weather and great views! No blizzard conditions since 2017. Here are some great pics, and congratulations to all of our new Junior Rangers! More photos are available in the OAC Photography Album:

Snowshoe trip update: shutdown due to shutdown!

UPDATE: Sorry to have to convey some bad news: we will not be going this Saturday due to uncertainties about whether or not the road will be opening in time for us Saturday AM. This is a direct consequence of the recent government shutdown. Park crews have been working to prepare the roads and hope to have them ready by Saturday, but the ranger I spoke to could not guarantee anything. So, rather than getting the vans organized and risk being turned around at the gate, we will reschedule the trip for MARCH 2nd.

If you can go March 2nd, you don't need to do anything. We'll just change the date on the paperwork and you're good to go. If you can't go on March 2nd, please let me know. Thanks!

Cuoio Park Visit: 12/9/2017

Thanks to all who came out (students, chaperones and parents) for our visit to the future location of Greg Cuoio Park in Lacey! It's going to a great community asset! Also, thanks to Lacey Parks and Rec for making it happen!

Cuoio Park Exploration - December 9th

Join Outdoor Adventure Club and the City of Lacey on Saturday, December 9th at 10:00 AM for a fun "preview" of what's going to be a new and spectacular local park! Bonus: it's only about two miles from NTHS! The land for the 400+ acre Greg J. Cuoio Community Park in Lacey was acquired back in 2011, and is still awaiting development. This is your chance to explore the currently “no access” property with City of Lacey officials and help begin to develop a vision for the future of this beautiful public land just down the street from NTHS! We’ll spend a couple of hours walking around the property and exploring what it has to offer.

If interested, you'll need to get a permission slip from Mr. Coker in the NTHS Library and carefully review the specific trip information linked here. Check in with Mr. Coker if you have any questions.

• December 9th: OAC Trip (hike) to visit the future site of Cuoio Park (10:00-1:00 PM). More info soon!
• December 20th: NTHS Discount night at the Cirque Climbing Gym (7:00 PM to 9:00 PM).
• January 3rd: Fundraising/Concessions - Girls Basketball v. Yelm (5:00 to 9:00 PM)
• January 17th: NTHS Discount night at the Cirque Climbing Gym (7:00 PM to 9:00 PM).
• January 20th: Snowshoe hike at Paradise - Mt. Rainier National Park (7:00 AM - 6:00 PM)
• February 1st: Fundraising/Concessions - Girls Basketball v. Peninsula (5:00 to 9:00 PM)
